Address Council
Below are the opportunities to enable the public to address Town Council regarding items of municipal concern:
- Submit Correspondence to Council
- Present to Council (Petitions & Delegations)
- Public Participation Period at a Council Meeting
- Question Period at a Council Meeting
Individuals who submit letters of correspondence, delegation requests and other information to Council or address Council in person or online at a meeting should be aware that personal information shared or contained within their communications may become part of the permanent public record and therefore made available through the agenda process which includes publication on the Municipality's website.
Submit Correspondence to Council
Submit correspondence to Mayor and Council by:

You do not need to be present at a Council meeting for Council to consider an item. Town staff will advise you when your correspondence is scheduled to appear on a meeting agenda. Once Council considers your correspondence, you will be advised of the decision made in response to your correspondence.
The deadline to receive correspondence is 1:00pm on the day of the meeting.
Present to Council (Petitions & Delegations)
If you wish to make a verbal presentation at a Council meeting, please complete a Petitions & Delegations Form, providing sufficient detail to describe the topic, the presenters and meeting date you wish to appear.
The completed form, along with any handouts or PowerPoint presentations, should be submitted to the Deputy Clerk by 12:00pm (noon) on the Thursday prior to the meeting.
Presentations should be limited to a maximum of fifteen (15) minutes. Once Council considers and makes a decision on your issue, you will be advised of the decision made in response to your appearance as a petitioner or delegation.
Public Participation
Should you wish to provide comment at a meeting on a matter that appears on that meeting's agenda, you are welcome to speak during the Public Participation period. Comments are limited to a maximum of five (5) minutes.
Question Period
Should you wish to ask a question of Council at a meeting, you are welcome to ask your question during the Question Period. Comments are limited to a maximum of two (2) minutes and must be in the form of a question.
