Election Signs: Important Information for the Upcoming Federal Election
March 31, 2025
Federal election day on Monday, April 28, 2025. As you prepare to support your favourite candidate, the Town of View Royal would like to remind residents of our Election Procedures Bylaw (No. 989, 2018),as it relates to election signs.
To reduce visual clutter and minimize plastic waste, election signs are not allowed on public property in View Royal. This means signs cannot be placed on:
- Roadsides
- Parks
- Town buildings or structures
Where Can I Place Election Signs? Signs are still allowed on private property, but please take a moment to verify your property lines before placing any signs. Keep in mind:
- Signs must not obstruct traffic sightlines, overhang public land, or be within two feet of a roadway.
- All signs must be removed within 48 hours of the final voting day.
We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our community clean and safe during election season. For more information on election signs, please review our Election Procedures Bylaw (No. 989, 2018).
