Your annual property taxes help pay for municipal, regional and provincial services in the proportions depicted in the chart below.
Taxes collected for municipal services include:
- Fire and police protection
- Building inspection and bylaw enforcement
- Parks and recreation
- Development (economic development and land use planning)
- Transportation (roads, streets, sidewalks, boulevards, snow clearing)
- Environmental health (storm water draingage and sewer)
- Legislative and general administration

- Provincial Government (SD61 School Taxes)

The Town of View Royal sets the tax rates for municipal services only and collects taxes on behalf of the Province and all other regional governments and agencies as required by legislation.
